On the fateful morning of November 6th, 2015 Summer was walking her two dogs Princess and Kojo, both in a harness and on a leash. Little did she know that morning would turn tragic! Summer’s neighbor’s dog was not on a leash and charged after both princess and Kojo. As a result, the neighbor opened fire on both Princess and Kojo, at close range, and as a result killing one. Princess was a K-9 good citizen certified dog. Her brother Kojo received multiple gunshot wounds as well. After 911 arrived both dogs were rushed to the Emergency Animal Hospital. Princess had bled out and succumbed to her injuries and passed away in route. Her brother Kojo, who came from the same litter as her, spent 36 hours in ICU. Kojo was very lucky that the bullets didn't hit any major organs and he survived. Princess was transported by Summer to a lab in Kissimmee for an autopsy to see what major organs were struck. The Doctor stated that she was hit in the spine and also the heart. The Doctor was unable to determine where else Princess was struck do to too much blood inside the X-ray and was unable to see the full scope of injuries. This has been very hard and so heartbreaking for their family as well as the entire Orlando Bully Rescue family as they are OBR alumni. We would like to tell all who donates Thank You so much in advance and it means a lot. As you all know vet bills add up very quickly and at this point we do not know how much more is to come with Kojo. With Princess we want justice for her. Thank you so much for taking the time to read the sad story of Princess and Kojo.
Both Princess and Kojo are OBR Alumni. Therefore, Orlando Bully Rescue is offering limited edition “Justice for Princess and Kojo” T-shirts to help support the cause.
